  (2)Countercurrent softening

  Co-current regeneration softening method: That is, the reducing liquid flows from top to bottom, while the raw water moves from the bottom of the tank to the top, and the softened water flows out from the top of the tank. This method, as the flow direction of the reducing liquid is opposite to that of water, improves the utilization rate of the reducing liquid and is mostly used in small exchangers.

  (3)Concurrent flow softening

  Countercurrent regeneration softening method: The raw water flows from top to bottom while the reducing liquid moves from bottom to top, and the soft water flows out from the bottom of the tank. This method can enhance the regeneration effect, thus the quality of softened water is good, and it can save salt and cleaning water. Generally, exchangers operating in this mode are mostly adopted.
